Groundbreaking Futsal Tournament Hits the Richmond Olympic Oval this weekend

Futsal in Vancouver and lower-mainland BC is about to get a major boost today as the Vancouver Futbol Academy launches their 1st ever futsal tournament at the phenomenal Richmond Olympic Oval on a pair of brand new professional futsal courts.
The architects behind the tournament, Michael D’Agostino and Alexander Elliott, are utilizing the tournament as a launchpad for the start of the VFA’s futsal league which kicks off on January 3rd and will focus on offering the best futsal competition and venues available in BC. If you are around the region this weekend do not miss this opportunity to see what futsal is all about and learn more about what the VFA has on tap for the future, which right now is looking brighter for BC futsal than it ever has.
The VFA Futsal League is metro-Vancouver’s only Futsal league and is entering its inaugural season. Played on Canada’s only real Futsal playing surface at the Richmond Olympic Oval, the VFA is offering players the chance to experience soccer “samba style.” Initially starting with a men’s league, the VFA will be expanding to high school, women’s and youth leagues in the near future. Passionate about the game of Futsal, they are committed to attracting the top players as well as advancing the skills of the youth players in the community.
