October 16th, 2009
The Toronto Futsal League is currently looking for players and teams to participate in their U10 (born in 2000 or later) and U16 (born in 1994 or later) divisions.
With futsal being the only version of indoor soccer supported by FIFA, the sport offers great playing opportunities to players and is widely considered worldwide to be one of the best methods of preparing youth players for the outdoor season.
The focus on the U10’s will be player and technical development and fun games while the U16’s will be sharpen their teeth in preparation for the elite Toronto Invitational Futsal Tournament (January 22-24th 2010) and the OSA Futsal Cup (February) where U16 divisions exist.
Each team will receive a futsal specific clinic with 2 members from the Canadian National Futsal Team the last weekend of October before starting a 15 game season on November 7th. Clinics and games will take place at the double-gym at Danforth Technical Collegiate which is located at Danforth and Greenwood. It is a 5 minute drive east from the 404/DVP (Bloor exit) and is 1 block away from the Greenwood TTC station on the Bloor-Danforth Line.
Game times will be between 9:20am-2:30pm on Saturdays and the cost for each team is $1300 which covers everything except uniforms.
