Sudbury Futsal For Food Tournament a big success

Great futsal and great people lead to great things. The Sudbury District Soccer Club hosted their 2nd annual tournament last week and netted a big windfall for the Sudbury Food Bank.
The SDSC welcomed teams from across Ontario and Quebec and were able to raise 310lbs of food for the Edgar Burton Christmas Food Drive along the way. Tournament Director Jim Cress was very happy with the event’s results.
“It’s always great when not only the local community comes out to support an event but also teams from outside of it as well. We’re really pleased to have another successful event and even happier to be able to contribute to a great cause like the Sudbury Food Bank. We want to thank everybody so much for making the event an even bigger success than it was last year.”
The SDSC Rock Girls won gold after a great match vs Rouyn-Noranda in which the hosts won 5-2.
The tournament helped generate 310lbs of food for the Sudbury Food Bank and will certainly provide more than a few meals for those
