1st Womens Futsal Mundialito

In the great interest in growing womens futsal, it is excellent to see progress being made towards the creation of the first ever Womens Futsal Mundialito (like a mini World Cup). It is expected to kickoff on December 5th in Madrid and will be hosted by the RFEF (Spanish Football Association).

8 teams have confirmed play from all 5 confederations. In the group stage there will be two groups of four, followed by semi-finals and final. Hopefully this event will be enough of a success that will lead to the development of a FIFA Womens Futsal Cup. The girls need an international stage to perform on as well. We’ll follow this event day by day when it rolls around.
