Setanta Sports Becomes Official Sponsor of Toronto Invitational Futsal Tournament

Toronto- The monster that is the Toronto Invitational Futsal Tournament just got bigger today as they announced Setanta Sports has signed on to become its official sponsor.

The elite 24 hour digital sports sports channel is known for its huge offering of world class international soccer and rugby action including the Barclays Premier League (BPL), UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, the Rugby World Cup, RBS 6 Nations, and Scottish Premier League. From November 27-29th, Setanta is offering a free preview to all Canadian households with digital television.

Setanta headlines a strong cast that also includes Sport Court and Adidas, the offiial surface and game ball providers of the tournament.

The competition itself will be held during the Toronto International Soccer Show, inside of the Direct Energy Centre, Canada’s largest indoor exhibition hall, in downtown Toronto over the January 22-24th weekend.

TIFT will feature championship calibre futsal teams from across North America. With 8 teams per division at the U16 and U18 levels (for both girls and boys) plus one of the best mens divisions ever put together on the continent, TIFT will be the top futsal competition to ever take place on Canadian soil.

A pair of blue, FIFA international regulation-sized Sport Court futsal surfaces are being flown in just for the tournament. Also coming into town are the only two referees from the USA/Canada that officiated at last year’s CONCACAF Futsal Championship, one of which was also appointed by FIFA to referee at the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil.
