Fury U15 boys at Futsal Cup
Sarnia Fury U15 boys soccer recently competed in the Ontario Futsal Cup held at the Hoop Dome in Toronto, finishing with a record of one win and two losses while competing in the U16 division.
Sarnia opened the tournament with a 6-2 victory over Ottawa St. Mary.
The two teams both worked hard in the opening half with the only goal coming from Sarnia’s Marcelo Villanueva, his first of two in the game. In the second half, Sarnia continued to pressure their opponents and were rewarded with five consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.
Also scoring for Sarnia was Kwin Kensley, with a pair, Obidiah Atkinson and Anthony Petrucci. John Chrapko was stellar in net.
Sarnia dropped the second game of the tournament 13-3 to a tough team from Brampton. Corey Jackson and Anthony Petrucci scored first half goals for Sarnia, which trailed 6-2 at the intermission.
Also scoring for Sarnia was Kwin Kensley.
The Fury also lost game three, 7-2 to Ottawa Crushers. Sarnia came out flat and Ottawa took advantage building a 4-0 lead at half. In the second, Sarnia played with more emotion and played shoulder to shoulder with their opponents. Obidiah Atkinson scored both Sarnia goals.
