iPlay Futsal App Now Available for the iPhone

Futsal players all over the world now have a way to find local futsal teams and set up 5-a-side, 7-a-side, and 8-a-side games.

iPlay Futsal is an iPhone app created by a student design team at the University of Florence in Italy. It allows a futsal player to register a team, search for other teams in their local area, and arrange matches with other registered teams.

Users can also search for individual players to join their team or just arrange a kickabout.

 The design team that created the application wanted to make it simple for futsallers to find each other and arrange matches.

“iPlay Futsal was born to solve a big problem for everyone who wants to arrange a futsal match” said Francesco Brogi, one of the app’s designers. “In fact it is difficult because it [requires] a lot of telephone calls and it’s always a waste of time!”

Francesco said he hopes that users will appreciate how easy it will be to find other players or teams. When asked what the next steps are in the development of the app, he said one of the future enhancements his team is working on is the integration of other applications into the iPlay Futsal app. Google maps, for example, would help players locate places to play, and would help players locate each other.

As with any networking app, the greater number of users on board, the better the experience will be for everyone. According to Francesco, “We’d like iPlay Futsal to be developed worldwide”.
