Futsal Confirmed for the 2022 Youth Olympic Games
Another step towards to futsal’s inclusion into the Olympic Games.
After making its debut into the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, the International Olympic Committee has confirmed that futsal will be a part of the 2022 YOG in Dakar, Senegal.
After a very successful tournament in Buenos Aires the official decision was released this week. Dakar 2022 will take place from October 22 – November 9th.
In another positive step for the sport, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was elected to the IOC on Friday. Having the head of the organization that oversees international futsal can only be good for the sport as it slowly marches towards Olympic sport status.
