FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 Groups Set


FIFA held their much anticipated draw for the 2024 Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan this past Sunday.

Amidst the backdrop of beautiful Registan Square in Samarkand, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the ancient Silk Road, the 24 teams learned their opponents for the upcoming competition.

The tournament will take place from September 14 through October 6th in three cities across Uzbekistan Andijan, Bukhara and Tashkent.

Defending world and European champions, Portugal, find themselves in Group E with top 10 ranked, and CAF champions, Morocco in a rematch of their 2021 Futsal World Cup tilt, while two-time winners Spain will face  2021 semi-finalists Kazakhstan in a mouth-watering contest.

CONCACAF champions Panama will find tough battles in Group E with the aforementioned European and African champions, while silver medalists Cuba will face Brazil, Croatia, and Thailand in Group B action.

Guatemala have been drawn into Group F alongside Iran, France, and Venezuela while Costa Rica will do battle in Group A vs the Netherlands, Paraguay, and hosts, Uzbekistan.
