CSA Futsal Championship this weekend

It is a weekend of festivities in the city of Oshawa as Toronto United Futsal Club face Quebec’s FC Sparte for the national title. There is also an open clinic with national team coach Kyt Selaidopoulos.
The two-legged series between the Ontario and Quebec champions will take place on April 9-10th at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in the suburb 45 minutes east of Toronto. The penultimate match takes place at 2pm on Saturday with the decisive final slated for 1pm the following day. There is also a valuable referee clinic being put on for all officials by Canada’s only FIFA Futsal Instructor and Assessor Bob Tibbo from 9:30-11am on Saturday just before the first match. The cost of the clinic is only $25.
In addition to a pair of youth and women’s exhibition matches, the aforementioned free coaching clinic will take place at 9-10:30am on the Sunday. Coach Selaidopoulos is welcoming coaches of all levels to be actively engaged in the complimentary clinic and will be utilizing the weekend to assess players in the lead up to Canada’s CONCACAF qualifying series against the United States on May 4-5th in San Jose, Costa Rica. The aggregate winner of those two games will move on to the CONCACAF Futsal Championship from May 8-15th.
