Brazil win its 6th Futsal World Cup

Brazil defeated rivals Argentina in a classic 2-1 match in front of 9000+ in Tashkent on Sunday . It is the Brazilians 6th FIFA Futsal World Cup title.

Three time Player of the Year, Ferrao, had suffered through injuries over the last year and a half and Brazil Head Coach, Marquinhos Xavier, faced criticism for including him in the squad for Uzbekistan 2024. However, in the most significant match of his illustrious career, Ferrao, as many had anticipated, suffered an injury. Yet, he scored the defining goal that set Brazil on the path to victory.

The Brazil coach made another bold choice by selecting Willian as his primary goalkeeper instead of Guitta, regarded as one of the best in the role. The rock-solid No. 3 delivered remarkable performances throughout the tournament, earning the adidas Golden Glove in the final. Marlon, Marcel, and Dyego also shone brightly for the Seleção.

After a twelve-year wait, Brazil has reclaimed its place at the top of the futsal world.

Ukraine emphatically defeated France in the bronze medal match by a 7-1 score.
