Brazil are World Champions after a 3-2 Thriller!

BANGKOK – Brazil cameback to defeat their arch-rivals Spain in a classic thriller to decide the champions of the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup. Here is how it unfolded

After a rather tame stalemate during the first half in which neither team struck blood, the 2nd half provided a slew of goals as Brazil and Spain battled back and forth searching for their golden glory. Brazil opened the scoring via Neto before Spain equalized not too long after with a pair of goals from Torras and Aicardo which were just slightly over a minute apart.
Both teams grinded ahdr and provided a ton of excellent passes, saves, and oh-so-close moments which had the capacity crowd in Bangkok on the edge of their seats through.
It would be the legendary Falcao who then tied it up for Brazil with a vicious left foed shot that Spanish keeper Juanjo had no chance on with under four minutes left before the whistle ended for regulation time.
The 1st half of extra time provided excellent chances and a dynamic pace but without a goal.
The final frame before penalties proved to be an immense thriller with Spain’s five fouls from the 2nd half carrying over into extra time and with just over a minute left they conceded their 6th. But it would be Spanish goalkeeper Juanjo coming up huge for as he stopped the shot to give Spain an extra breath of life.
However, with just about 20 seconds left on the clock, a great pass from Falcao to Neto followed by a beautifully executed move around a Spanish before delivering a superb finish that beat Juanjo proved to be the winner and clinched Brazil’s 7th world title.
Neto was awarded the player of the tournament award and after a world class performance on the biggest stage, he certainly deserved it.
The match will go undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest in the history of the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
