Big futsal event in Quebec helps raise funds for Children’s Wish Foundation

LAVAL – Ligue de Futsal 5 Étoiles made an impact for the Children’s Wish Foundation this past Saturday night in Laval with a trio of exhibition games and festivities featuring players and celebrities from across Quebec and Ontario.

Futsal Canada Director Alex Kénol and the LF5E staff, dressed dapper in their matching black outfits, presented a wide array of entertainment options that included lightshows and smoke machines, even cheerleaders, to compliment the on court action, all of which was thoroughly enjoyed by the large and vibrant crowd at Collège Laval.

The women kicked things off with the Laval Comets of the W-League taking on the LF5E Women’s All Stars. Next up was the main course which featured a cast of famous faces from across Quebec including former UFC middleweight fighter David “The Crow” Loiseau, Toronto Argonaut fullback Alexandre Dupuis, 13 year NHL toughman Georges Laraque, in addition to many former Canadian internationals including Sandro Grande and Ali Gerba.

The final match featured the LF5E Men’s All Stars as they faced off against the Toronto Futsal League All Stars that saw the likes of Cristian Nunez, Max Laconte, Josh Lemos, and Kevin Correa showcase their skills, before the presentation of the cheque to the Children’s Wish Foundation closed out the night. The event raised a total of $2090 for a fantastic cause that will undoubtedly help a young child with a life threatening illness achieve and enjoy a dream wish.
