All Futsal Cancelled Across Canada, CONCACAF Postpones WCQ

UPDATED MARCH 19:
Sadly, as a result of the growing COVID-19 pandemic, all futsal programs are now cancelled for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

Canada Soccer has also announced the indefinite suspension of all soccer and futsal related activities, including the cancellation of the 2020 Canada Soccer Futsal Canadian Championship that was slated for April 2-4th at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

CONCACAF announced that their Futsal Championships, which was scheduled for May 1-10th in Guatemala City, has been postponed indefinitely. The competition is the qualifier for the FIFA Futsal World Cup which is still scheduled for September 12 – October 4th in Lithuania.

We at Futsal Canada want you to be safe so we can all get back to doing what we love sooner than later. So please practice social distancing, wash your hands according to the World Health Organization standards, and please stay at home unless it is absolutely necessary. We’re all in this together so let’s each do our part to stop the spread of this virus.
