3rd Saskatoon Futsal World Cup a grand success

The third edition of the Saskatoon Futsal World Cup grew this year with teams from Nunavut and BC entering the competition this year. Full story and results inside.
The World Cup format competition saw an increase in participation with 12 nations this year with Team Brazil defeating Team Poland in another great final. Two time CSA Futsal Championship medalist Jaime Meza, added yet another medal to his cabinet by coaching Brazil to victory for the third straight year.
In the bronze medal match it was Team Ukraine finished in 3rd place edging Team Peru.
Team Russia traveled all the way from beautiful Nunavut while Team Canada came from Floydminster, BC.
Cristian Lima had an excellent tournament and his performances were enough to win the Most Valuable Player Award while his teammate, Rodrigo Koebsch, took him the golden boot as top scorer.

The next major event will take place in February 2019 with the Saskatchewan Provincial Championships with a ticket to the CSA Futsal Championship on the line. Saskatchewan earned silver in 2017 and a bronze medal last year when both tournaments were hosted at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
