The Ontario Soccer Association’s Futsal Cup finished up this past weekend. Here are the results of all three divisions.

OSHAWA, ONTARIO February 27, 2013 — The Ontario Futsal Cup took place this past weekend at Durham College in Oshawa. Teams in the U14 Boys, U16 Boys, and U16 Girls Divisions competed in a Round Robin Tournament Saturday, followed by the Finals on Sunday. After a highly competitive weekend of competition, three new Provincial Champions were awarded the Ontario Futsal Cup.

U14 Boys

U16 GirlsIn the Under 14 Boys Final, the Whitby Iroquois 99 AM 14 faced off against the Richmond Hill Raiders 99BG. With both sides going undefeated in the Saturday’s Round Robin Tournament, this match was set up to be great from the opening whistle. Whitby and Richmond Hill both came out firing, exchanging goals evenly throughout the contest. After regulation time expired, the sides were deadlocked in a 3-3 tie. Whitby goals were scored by #13 Kyle Humby (2) and #3 Mitchell Wong. Richmond Hill goals were scored by #9 Donovan Watson (2) and #20 Matthew Michella. In Kicks from the Penalty Mark, Whitby edged Richmond Hill 3-1 and were crowned Ontario Futsal Cup Champions.

U16 Girls

In the Under 16 Girls Final, the North Mississauga Panthers took on the Woodbridge Strikers ’98 Girls. From the initial kick off, this was a one-sided affair. The Panthers dominated play and was rewarded with a 9-2 victory to claim the Ontario Futsal Cup. North Mississauga goal scorers were #6 Samantha Worthman (3), #0 Alana Rossi, #9 Kimberly Loaiza-Ramirez, #11 Rebecca Spratt, #14 Olivia Di Cristofaro, #15 Gujeena Jandu, and #77 Megan Pedersen. Whitby goal scorers were #6 Jayda Hylton-Pelaia and #9 Alexandra Chewinski.

U16 Boys

In the Under 16 Boys Final, the London Marconi Blue Devils challenged the Ottawa Carleton FC Chaos in an evenly matched contest. London would come out looking like the better side, getting a 2-0 lead early on goals from #99 Jacob Kenny and from #12 George Sucuqui. The Chaos fought back in the second half, creating several chances, but were unable to find the back of the net due to stellar play from the London Marconi goalkeeper. London would go on to take the match 2-0, taking the Ontario Futsal Cup from the Ottawa squad.
