Futsal is played around the world and now the game, a form of street soccer, is taking hold in the West Island.

The first ever CSA futsal championships wrapped up in mid-April at Capilano College in BC and it turned out to be a successful tournament.

The boys of Richmond Madrid are national champions.

The under-14 soccer team won the first national futsal championship last weekend at Capilano College. The B.C. champion defeated provincial rival and runner-up Langley United 5-3. Langley had edged Madrid in the tournament opener.

Many changes in the Mundialito Outdoor in Algarve: in few days the fixture was modified twice, with the Canadian withdrawal and the last minute Scotland (we're trying to find out which kind of Scottish selection will play) entry.

The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) staged a Futsal conductor course for coaches and referees at the Soccer Centre and Holy Cross High School in Vaughan, Ontario 16-17 September.

Charlie Cuzzetto and Canada's former Futsal Head Coach, Dave Roach, facilitated the course in which 18 participants from Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan registered, the objective of which was to provide basic Futsal knowledge to the lead instructors so that they in turn can teach the provincial referee and coaching instructors within their respective provinces.
